Veterans Lead Covert Rescue Ops

They work to move small groups at night to airport access.

A volunteer group of American military veterans has been helping hundreds of at-risk Afghan elite forces and their families to safety in a night-time operation called “Pineapple Express.” Their daring and heroic private mission was reported by retired Army Lt. Col. Scott Mann, a Green Beret commander.

Mann, who is leading the private rescue effort, said, “Dozens of high-risk individuals, families with small children, orphans, and pregnant women, were secretly moved through the streets of Kabul throughout the night and up to just seconds before ISIS detonated a bomb into the huddled mass of Afghans seeking safety and freedom.” He had journalists embedded with the rescue efforts.

The group is working covertly with the U.S. military and the U.S. Embassy to move people in small groups, even some one at a time, into the secured access of the U.S.-controlled Hamid Karzai International Airport at Kabul.

Operation “Pineapple Express” is named after a graphic of a yellow pineapple on a pink field on smartphones used by refugees to identify themselves.

Other groups are also working to rescue at-risk Afghans and Americans through a northern corridor.

The numbers rescued have not been divulged.

As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…

  • For the volunteer veterans as they conduct covert operations inside the dangers of a Taliban-controlled Afghanistan.
  • For the Lord’s hand of protection over the troops at the airport and the pilots and crew flying people to safety.
  • For God to guide and direct the operatives to find and reach those who are most at risk.
